Crew Comments

Captain Andy’s passion for travel & in particular the sea started when he joined the Royal Navy at 16. Since then he has travelled extensively including marrying his wife of 20 years, Linzi, in Sri Lanka. Andy loves to sail so rest assured any opportunity for the sails to go up and the engines to go off he’ll take it. His love for adventure isn’t limited to the water and amongst other things has a number of skydives under his belt. Andy prides himself on a well maintained and ‘Ship Shape’ boat. He loves to share his passion for sailing and will involve anyone who wishes to learn more, hoist sails or take the helm.

Chef Linzi’s passion for the sea has developed over the last few years since working charters with Captain Andy, husband of 20 years and cruising around the Greek Islands on their own boat for 4 years. Linzi has a love of physical fitness ranging from relaxing yoga to running and has accomplished numerous 10k, half marathons and marathons. Whether your idea of perfection is relaxing aboard with a book in your hand, gliding across the water with the sails hoisted or soaking up the local delights on land, Andy & Linzi will ensure this will be your vacation of a lifetime!

So come and join them for the perfect get away, aboard Seas The Day …

Testimonials

Captain Andy and Chef Linzi for the Win!

This review is a long time coming - but holy cow did Captain Andy and Chef Linzi give my family and I an amazing time on the Seas the Day (a Mooring 5000 Catamaran). Here's the deal - if you go to the BVI's, it's going to be great. But what separates the experiences from each other is who you go with - and more importantly - who is helming your vessel. And that was very much the case with Andy and Linzi. They took care to show us to the hot spots, the places off the beaten path, and in between. Linzi's food kept us happy and full the entire time, Andy's navigating kept us safe and taken care of, and both of their personability, EQ, and situational / social awareness allowed them to keenly pick up on when to hang around and when to leave us on our own. There is a jovial sense of whimsy with these 2 that is hard to find and is quite infectious. I highly recommend hitting the high seas with them. From Ricky T

Captain Andy and Chef Linzi

This was our first trip with the Moorings and was absolutely outstanding! Capt. Andy and his First Mate/Chef Linzi went overboard (figure of speech!) to make our trip great. Andy was very patient with all my landlubber questions about sailing, navigation, etc. My wife was not convinced she would be able to live aboard a boat for a week and had some trepidation about signing on. Seasickness was her worst fear. But even in strong winds with "lumpy seas" (Andy's term for choppy) Andy sailed the boat like it was a Cadillac, smooth, straight, and true. Linzi his wife, not only helped with the sailing, she created amazing gourmet meals from 2 small refrigerators! Shrimp with cajun sauce, stuffed filets, pasta dishes, even Bar B Que! The best treat was the daily 5 o'clock cocktail hour hors d' oeurves. Nothing better than Linzi's cooking, good company (our travel companions made the trip so much fun) watching the sun go down over the horizon!

Together Andy and Linzi entertained us all day long. Great stories about their lives in England, stories about their sailing trips around the world. We felt very safe and secure with them. My wife said the gentle rocking of the catamaran made her sleep like a baby every night. If you decide on a Moorings crewed charter, ask, no DEMAND Andy and Linzi!

Best Captain & Chef in the BVIs

Best family vacation ever! Our family, including two teenagers and their uncle, had an all-inclusive 8 day charter with Captain Andy and Chef Linzi on Seas the Day, a Mooring 5000 Catamaran. The boat was spectacular and the cabins were very comfortable. Chef Linzi prepared amazing gourmet meals three times a day (managing some dietary restrictions) plus happy hour snacks and cocktails before dinner - yes we will be dieting when we get home. And last but not least, Captain Andy could not have made us feel safer. He knows the boat and the islands. We had to adjust our trip when tropical storm Grace came through, but Andy made sure we got to all the best destinations, Anegada, Virgin Gorda and the Baths, jumping off Willie Ts, Sandi Spit (aka Corona Island), Cooper Island, White Beach for an afternoon at Soggy Dollar for Painkillers (virgin Painkillers for the kids) while our daughter had her hair braided and beaded (Andy and Linzi made the arrangements) and more. For the most part, our adventure kept the kids off their electronics, and my 16-year old surfer son wanted me to mention that kneeboarding behind the dingy with Andy was his trip highlight We cannot imagine there is a better captain and chef in all the Caribbean. We will be back, and we will be on Andy's and Linzi's boat!
